Time and again in the waning decades of a man’s world, Kay Bailey Hutchison needed to prove herself. Time and again, she did. The gracious, steely descendant of a pioneering Texan who signed the 1836 Declaration of Independence has surmounted belittling and bias since her days at UT Law School 45 years ago.
