Shoppers swarmed the Lehigh Valley Mall in Whitehall Township this morning for the release of basketball shoes, eliciting the response of several area police agencies, according to reports. 

Whitehall Township police, state police and other departments responded to help control crowds waiting for the release of Nike Jordan Retro 11 sneakers at two stores in the mall, said Jennifer Sherlock, mall spokeswoman. No incidents were reported.
