Russian artist Chernitsova Nadejda on Tuesday displayed a collection of 28 art pieces that captured floral fantasies of spring on fabric at Jharoka art gallery here. The solo exhibition features creative art skills of the artist that portray spring flowers and traditional women images in vibrant flowy costumes.

Nadejda explores the medium of water color, oil paint and technically amalgamate these mediums on silk material with all the three types of Batik - Hot Batik (with melted wax), Cold Batik (using gutta or other reserves), and free paint on silk. According to the artist, Batik can be used in different ways in interior design such as Lamos, Doors, Screens, etc.

For a cold Batik (technique Gutta), the artist uses elegant clearness of contours of figure by applying water colour techniques - pouring (as multicolor), extensions of tone; glazing techniques. For creation of the invoice, various salt effects are used; different kinds of salt applied on different kinds of fabric give unimaginable variations of figures.

The hot Batik is thoughtful, mysterious, picturesque, deep; integral and mature. While in a free painting, the artist uses various thickeners to cover a fabric with thick dyes to give effects of flowing, wash-out etc. Different structures of a fabric, brush and dyes give a variety of colour combination, the invented nuances and stylistic researches to work on a particular theme. Chernitsova Nadejda was born in Russia and studied and practiced art, architecture and design from Russian art institutions. She worked on various architectural projects in Russia and Pakistan.
